Subscription Concert 5 -- "East vs. West-- the American Cultural Divide"

New York composers Vincent Persichetti (“Masquerade”) and William Schuman (“George Washington Bridge”) offer fascinating contrasts to Tanouye’s “Kokopelli’s Dance” and Moross’ theme music from the motion picture “The Big Country”. Copland’s “Billy the Kid” unites East and West.

We are pleased to preform a concert in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Program will include music by Ticheli, Copland, Shoshtacovich and more. Come and enjoy the music !

The winds will play Nathan Wang's Suite for Erhu, Holst's Second Suite in F, Mozart's Masonic Funeral Music,
Frank Tichelli's Apollo Unleashed, Bach's Toccata and Fugue in d minor, and Alfred Reed's stirring El Camino Real.
