The L.A. Winds have had the privilege of participating in numerous civic events in the Los Angeles area since its inception.
The Los Angeles Winds are sponsored by and have forged a strong relationship with Los Angeles Pierce College and the Los Angeles Community College District. The group has performed annually at the Pierce College graduation ceremony for over twenty years. The band takes pride in being able to participate in the commencement ceremony and give back to the college that provides it with so much support.
Additionally, the L.A. Winds had the honor of being invited to play at the inauguration of Darroch "Rocky" Young as Chancellor of the Los Angeles Community College District. It was a great privilege for the band to be able to perform for the incoming Chancellor, his family and friends, and so many college administrators, college presidents, and members of the Los Angeles College District Board of Trustees.
Each year, the L.A. Winds perform at the Warner Park “Concerts in the Park” series, sponsored by the Valley Cultural Center. The L.A. Winds take tremendous pleasure in being able to entertain an audience that can top 20,000 people. In 2006, the L.A. Winds were the headline act for Los Angeles Councilman Dennis Zine's “Valley of the Stars July 4th Extravaganza” featuring a fireworks show synchronized to a live performance by the band. The Winds are looking forward to another successful concert in Warner Park on June 17, 2007.
