CALIFORNIA BAND DIRECTORS CONFERENCE
FEBRUARY 18, 2006
The La Winds was invites to perform at the 49th annual conference of the California Band Directors Association, held in Fresno, California.
The band traveled to Fresno on Friday February 17th and had a band
banquet at one of the famous Basque restaurants in Fresno. Later that
evening, we attended performances by the Wind Ensemble of California
State University, Long Beach and the Boston Brass.
Our performance on Saturday morning featured soloists Larry Zalkind,
principal trombone, Utah Symphony and LA based studio and recording
artist, Gary Herbig, a member of the LA Winds.
Our program for this performance was:

The Blue Bells of Scotland – Arthyr Pryor, Larry Zalkind, trombone
Concerto Quasi Improvisando – James Domine, Gary Herbig, tenor saxophone

After our performance, we were able to visit the exhibits, instrument manufacturers and music publishers.
