2008 Tour: New Orleans Louisiana |

NEW ORLEANS. LOUISIANA
APRIL 2008
The band traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana in April 2008 for two
performances at Loyola University. Our first concert we shared the
stage with the University Band, directed by Dr. Joseph Herbert. Our
second concert was with the Crescent City Wind Symphony.
We were honored to have as a guest conductor, Colonel John Bourgeois
(ret.) of the United Stated Marine Band. Col. Bourgeois conducted
"Esprit de Corps" and his own transcription of Symphony No. 3
“Slavyanskaya” by Boris Koshevnikov.
We arrived in New Orleans and were greeted by a
traditional New Orleans street band that followed us all the way out of
the airport to our buses.
Of course, we also made time to have fun in the “Big Easy”.
Staying in the French Quarter, we enjoyed dinner at the Palm Court,
listened to a real Dixieland Jazz Band, tasted ‘hurricanes” at Pat
O’Brian’s and enjoyed lattés and beignets at Café du Monde
