NEW ORLEANS. LOUISIANA

APRIL 2008

The band traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana in April 2008 for twoperformances at Loyola University. Our first concert we shared thestage with the University Band, directed by Dr. Joseph Herbert. Oursecond concert was with the Crescent City Wind Symphony.
We were honored to have as a guest conductor, Colonel John Bourgeois(ret.) of the United Stated Marine Band. Col. Bourgeois conducted"Esprit de Corps" and his own transcription of Symphony No. 3“Slavyanskaya” by Boris Koshevnikov.

We arrived in New Orleans and were greeted by atraditional New Orleans street band that followed us all the way out ofthe airport to our buses.Of course, we also made time to have fun in the “Big Easy”. Staying in the French Quarter, we enjoyed dinner at the Palm Court,listened to a real Dixieland Jazz Band, tasted ‘hurricanes” at PatO’Brian’s and enjoyed lattés and beignets at Café du Monde
