Subscription Concert 1 – “The City of Angels”
Gala Season Opening Concert A spectacular afternoon of inspired music making with your LA Winds. Commemorate the diversity that makes Los Angeles the true “City of Angels.” Featured works will include Alfred Reed’s classic “Armenian Dances” and Darius Milhaud’s tribute to American soldiers who liberated France in WW II --“Suite Francaise”. Maestro Piazza will be the featured soloist in John Williams’ theme music from “The Terminal.”

Subscription Concert 2 – “Celebrate the Holidays”
Join us for our annual Holiday sing-along! Share with us Adam Gorb’s exuberant “Yiddish Dances”, Reed’s reverential Russian Christmas Music and Satoshi Yagasawa’s inter-faith “Hymn to the Infinite Sky”. Bring a can of food for the Valley’s less fortunate and stay for our traditional post-concert Holiday reception in the Performing Arts Center ‘s lobby.

Subscription Concert 3 – “Stars of the LA Winds”
The LA Winds 584 Big Band Revel in the artistry of some of the LA Winds’ most acclaimed performers as Geoff Nudell and Parker Gaims (now a member of the US Marine Corps Band) play Felix Mendelssohn’s virtuosic Two Concert Pieces. Also on the program will be “Frolic for Tuba” by the LA Winds resident composer, Charles Fernandez, with Michael Hart as soloist. Co- principal oboe Jessica Wilkins will also perform Rimsky-Korsakovs dazzling oboe variations.

Subscription Concert 4 – “Extraordinary Women”
The LA Winds pay tribute to 8 remarkable women who helped shape the course of human history. Featured works will include Giuseppi Verdi’s stirring “Overture to Joan of Arc”, Mark Camphouse’s powerful “A Movement for Rosa” and Eric Coates’ regal “The Three Elizabeths”. Our principal flutist Juan Rivera will be the featured soloist in Eugene Damare’s dazzling “Cleopatra” polka.

Subscription Concert 5 – “Revered Heroes Revisited”
Celebrate Father’s Day with the LA Winds as we perform Stephen Mellilo’s inspiring “David” with our own Christina Rozshart as soloist. Also on the program are Rossini’s ever- popular favorite “Overture to William Tell” and two works by Michael Daugherty—his tribute to Superman entitled “Red Cape Tango”, and the LA Opera Orchestra’s percussionist Therese Dimond performing Daugherty’s “Raise the Roof”
